USS Ozbourn -- DD846
Home port: Long Beach, California

While at sea with the 7th Fleet, much of this time was spent
a half-mile off the coast of Viet Nam, near the DMZ, firing
Naval Gunfire Support with our twin-5" gun mounts for U.S.
Marines ashore
.

Other times we were further out into the Ton kin Gulf, either
escorting the various aircraft carriers that were launching
their jet planes into combat, or engaged in underway
replenishment for fuel or ammo, or en route to our various
destinations
.
